While not rested or refreshed really after ‘spring break’, I still have to be strong heading back to classes. This drink is clearly that (once you look at the ingredients, not that the other ones have been weak), and it’s an intrinsic characteristic of the Bald Witch.
1 part Zirbenz Stone Pine Liquor
1/2 part Agwa
1/4 part 151 rum
1/4 part Appenzeller Alpenbitter
Combine liquor with ice in glass and stir. Wipe rim with lemon peel and twist into drink.
Pine Liquor: To me she is the one who summons and relinquishes the forest from appearing. We see her helping to position the Birnam Wood for Macbeth’s demise, and then later, she dances with each of the trees, as if they were her friends, replacing them where they were one uprooted. She cares for the trees, and they obviously care back with all their little pine needles as they listen to her commands.
Agwa: Agwa is a coco herbal liquor that has dark and sweet notes. The Bald witch tend to work in the darker regions of the hotel, the woods, crypt, apothecary. She uses shadows to her advantage and even summons a disguise at times. To me she is the eldest of the three witches, and she takes care of her younger brethren, be it saving the boy witch in the speakeasy or cleaning up after green witch’s mess of Banquo. She cares for them and looks out for them.
151 rum: She’s strong, both physically and mentally. To me she summons the woods, summons boy witch from being cast out, is able to hex others (Banquo and Macduff) and conjure a disguise all just from her spirit. And physical prowess? Effortlessly spars with Macduff and Banquo as well. Next to Hecate, there isn’t a more powerful person in the building.
Appenzeller Alpenbitter: To me when you say herbal liquor I only think of this. Jägermeister has nothing on this guy. I’ve always described this as the taste of a forest, with squirrels and deer included. As mentioned before she hangs out in wooded areas (Birnam woods) or places with tons of herbs (apothecary) so this liquor was the first one that came to mind while creating this drink.
Lemon Peel: If you’ve ever had the pleasure of being pinned to the wall by the bald witch, you know she’s got a pinch to her that may make you pucker a bit (or want to pucker up).
Vessel: It’s an IKEA glass that I’ve always thought looked like a tree stump.
If you actually do have all these ingredients, please let me know what you think (this is probably the most challenging one to acquire all the ingredients so good luck!)
